    2009-08-14 - New domain name - angryip.org!

Finally, Angry IP Scanner has its own domain name that is related to the name of the project! The TLD of .org now also better corresponds to the convention of many open-source projects.

Hopefully, now it would be easier to remember the new address - http://www.angryip.org/

2009-03-24 - Source moved to Git

Angry IP Scanner source code has been moved to git, following the popular trend.

Due to the distributed nature of git, this will allow for easier contribution by cloning the master repository at sourceforge.net as well as offline development.

The new repository can be viewed here:
    http://ipscan.git.sourceforge.net/

It contains full history of both ipscan 3.x (master branch) and ipscan 2.x (ipscan2 branch).

Information on working with git repositories at sourceforge is available here: https://sourceforge.net/scm/?type=git&group_id=25534

Previous SVN and CVS repositories are now closed.

    2009-03-24 - Angry IP Scanner: 3.0-beta4 released

Angry IP scanner is fast and friendly network scanner for Windows, Linux, and Mac. It is very extensible, allowing it to be used for very wide range of purposes, with the primary goal of being useful to network administrators.

The next milestone before the 3.0 final has been released, containing many small improvements and bug fixes.

Most notably, it fixes compatibility issues with MacOS Leopard Java Update 2 and newer, adds command-line support, provides stock icons for buttons on Linux, adds the possibility to add comments to scanned hosts.

2007-12-17 - New public site for Angry IP Scanner

Angry IP Scanner now has a new public web site based on MediaWiki!

The new site should be more informative, easier to modify, and allow writing of FAQ and help pages by any registered users.

It should look good in standards-based browsers (Firefox, Safari, IE7). As IE6 has buggy CSS support and its share is dropping, not much effort has been put to support it.

Please report any problems you may experience with the new site!
Old site is still accessible at http://www.angryziber.com/old/

    2007-08-17 - Petition to anti-virus software vendors

An online petition has been created addressed to anti-virus software vendors (currently Symantec and McAfee) against adding Angry IP Scanner to their databases.

All users of Angry IP Scanner, please help letting them know that you don't need ipscan.exe to be automatically removed from your computers!

2007-07-26 - Preview build of version 3.0 is available

Linux and Windows builds of Angry IP Scanner 3.0-alpha1 have been uploaded to Sourceforge. MacOS build will be available soon as well.

This is a preview of the next-generation cross-platform Angry IP Scanner, so expect bugs and unfinished features. Please submit bugs against version 3.x.

2006-07-26 - Angry IP Scanner is in Top 100 security tools

Angry IP Scanner is now listed in this year's security tools' survey organized by an infamous hacker Fyodor every 3 years.

Angry IP Scanner has a great place of 51 out of 100!

2006-07-26 - Development moved to Subversion

If you are following the development of Angry IP Scanner 3.0, then you should be aware that it is no longer in the CVS, it is now moved to the Subversion repository.

    Old CVS module: ipscan3
    New SVN path: ipscan
